Big Kahuna of SIP Goodies
![]() The Big Kahuna of SIP goodies is in the works and coming soon -- beautiful hand sculpted figures from Clayburn Moore and Moore Creations! The first piece scheduled is Katchoo and, as you can see by these photos, she is nearly completed and ready to be painted for her debut! If everything goes to plan, we think Katchoo should hit the stores sometime in May! Production will be limited, but the number of pieces has not yet been decided. Also, there will be a very limited number of Special Creator's versions that will feature special additions to the bust, a certificate of authenticity and signatures from both creator Terry Moore and sculptor Clayburn Moore.
![]() A matching Francine bust will be released later this summer/fall and, if all goes well, a large full-length figure featuring BOTH Francine AND Katchoo together will make it's debut after that! These figures are the first ever made of the SIP girls, and judging by the early photos of the clay model, they are going to be beautiful!

Because of deadline madness, this little bit of news didn't make it into issue #21, but it will be in #22. Issue #21 featured a guest appearance by the artist of Quicken Forbidden, John Green (see pic)! John had a 4 page part as the poor museum volunteer who tried to deny Katchoo the right to take her paintings down in the exhibit. If you've read the story, you know this very nearly cost John his arm. How did John get so lucky? He won the role in an auction! Yep, true story. The Friends Of Lulu held an auction in New York City in 1998, and one of the items up for bid was a guest role in an upcoming issue of SIP, plus the page of original art he appeared on! John, an SIP fan and a talented artist working on his own comic book, Quicken Forbidden along with writer Dave Roman (published by Cryptic Press), won the bid and then waited politely for the better part of a year before the SIP story could offer him the cameo. Thanks to John Green for being so patient, and a good sport! To find out more about Quicken Forbidden and Cryptic Press, email them at mnemonic@juno.com |
