You killed Griffin... you bastard!! Ok, now
that I've had my South Park moment... so will this (and I'm assuming here) death drive Fran and Katchoo closer together? Well, it better, damnit, since you only have a couple of issues to go! David's babies are getting an awful lot of attention for not even existing, huh? I think Mary Beth would have something to interject into the equation.
I think it's time for another patent-pending Katchoo rage. One husband, bloodied and borken coming up.... Ok, too violent. Fine, Brad and the x-ray tech hogtied to the statuary in the hospital courtyard... how 'bout it? =) |

Oh yeah! This is what I read SIP for: You get into the story, feel the emotion, and then BAM! something comes at you from the side and spins you around! We're coping with David's illness and BAM! Katchoo wants his babies. Katchoo and Casey talk it through and BAM! Brad's having an affair. Francine grows a pair and walks out, then BAM! Griffin goes down. Storytelling at it's finest, people, whatever the medium. I want more, Moore! |

Terry,
Poor Griffin. Damn man, I liked Griffin. It reminded me of poor "Dimebag" Darryl Abbotts's murder onstage. Tragic.
Francie was cheating emotionally with Katchoo, and I assume physically, now Brad is cheating, too. What a train wreck.
It's about time Francie learned to deal with her problems as an adult. GROW UP! Nice rant about wanting truth, love and romance, but she's not giving that to Brad. Get her a guide dog, because she's blind. Pathetic.
Of course, I'm riveted to every page and word!
Snootchie Bootchies, Terry!

Good issue! The first two panels of Francine are my favorite in this issue, the bottom panel especially. Terry, you conveyed such strong emotion in that last panel. As soon as I saw it, I knew that Brad the Bastard was cheating.
I laughed out loud when Francine shouted, I wish I was a lesbian! And her little old neighbor replied with, Right on, sister.
Am I the only person that yelled back at Francine when she was pitching her fit with Verizon Customer Service? Katchoo! Katchoo would be true to you. What's the matter with you, woman?! Enough is enough is enough
No one? Just me, then? Oh well.
I have to admit that I am a little confused about the recent shirt exchange in Issue 78. Did Francine and Katchoo really take that step Francine's been tip toeing around for years? Because if so, she sort of did the same thing to Brad that he did to her. And if not, well, enough is enough is enough. What is wrong with you, Fran?
Thank you, Terry, for another great issue. I'll be sitting by my mailbox until July 5th if anyone is looking for me.

I stumbled into Strangers In Paradise in '97 when I worked in a family comic book store as the manager. At the time we were trying to diversify our store and yours was one of the books that we started to carry. Unfortunately my father passed away shortly thereafter and the store closed but not before I read the issues that we ordered.
Months later I found another comic store and lo and behold, there was the trade paperbacks of SIP. I picked up "I Dream of You" and was hooked. Now 9 years later we are getting ready to say goodbye to an old friend.
From Francine's rants and raves (like in this issue) to Casey's blonde moments, to Katchoo's inner revelations, I've been there. I'm glad that you decided to share your stories with us. I just wish that my father could have read the stories, I'm sure he would have enjoyed them.
Thanks for everything Terry, it's hard to believe we just have barely a year left! |

Terry, the issue was fantastic as per usual. I was compelled to re-read it three times to let it all soak in. But I've got to ask you: how in the world are you going to wrap up the ambulance bomber thing in 8 issues?! That's driving me up a wall! Also: where has Freddy been lately? |

I have to say I seen this one coming a mile away! Moreover it's not fair for Francine to be locked in a iron Pyrite cage like her mother was. Maybe the Ghost of her great-grandmother( or great-great -digs out old TPB's-) had a hand in this (guardian Angel type thing).
But I digress, I'll keep reading to find this mind bender out!...Heh one more thing I love it when Fran's fiery southern Girl comes out classic Texan temper!! |

Oh my! You really are taking us for quite a ride. Another sibling, Francine going a little wild again, Katina agreeing to have a baby, Giffen Silver SHOT! Wow.
I'm enjoying the ride, and sad to see it end. But the fact that you're giving it both barrels here is enough to make it worth it. |

Really liked the "whispered conversation" with special lettering between Katchoo and Casey. Also liked the soft graphitey drawing style at the end.
The Francine cell phone revelation situation seemed a bit contrived-it took too many pages to tell us what we already knew but Francine had yet to figure out/accept. I think we could have gotten that info in a more engaging fashion.
Shocking assasination news at the end-I wonder if the victim survived?
Head to the comic store guys! Terry didn't lie- it is a helluva ride! |

Dear Mr. Moore,
As a long time comic fan, I never thought you can have more than 3 storylines converge in an issue and have it either not be confusing/surprising but once again you have managed to surprise me. I totally forgot about David's sister and Griffin til you 'included' them in this issue. Shocker!! And Anna in Sweden on the letters page is right, Tambi is so complex with her many sides that I have fallen for her as hard as I had for the original 'trinity' of David, Francine and Katchoo. As I wondered when the ambulance bomber would come up again, you hit me with the one-two punch of Francine's plight and the last page.
Mr. Moore, once again you have proven to be a devious storyteller on par with certain writers of the 'big two' companies and certain 'niche' tv shows. Screw Lost and 24, this is the place for surprising shockers and underlying themes.
PS: Just when I thought I knew Casey, her dialouge in the last 2 issues blew me away and shows that there is plenty of depth to all of us if you have the patience to look for it. Thx Terry.... *sniff* 8 issues left..... |
